An idea that began simply an occasional musing (the kind so often easily dismissed) has shifted into something else. I've long toyed with the idea of reimagining the title for Elegy, the concluding chapter of Volume 1 of my urban fantasy saga, but it never really went any further than that. Until now.
Behold, the new title for that work --
The Heir of Divinity.
It fits in with the stylization from the previous two novels in A Season of Angels and invokes the destiny that Genevieve/Lilith embraces upon her journey towards confronting Lucifer Morningstar. It's also a play on a moniker that pops up throughout this novel and the two that came before. You'll often hear Genevieve referred to by many different titles- the Angel Witch, the Bright One, even the Heir of Rhea. This book title circles back to that and brings her story arc to its proper place. It's both an end and a beginning. Because, let's face it, her journey is far from over.
For now, however, the real work begins. Over the course of the next few months, I'll begin work on incorporating this title into the updated cover for the novel. Whether or not that means a complete redesign, I simply don't know for sure. It's too early to begin speculating on that. In the meantime, I've already launched the first phase of this rebrand ...
The soft launch of the 3rd Edition of Elegy. That edition was uploaded to Amazon and all other retail channels back in April and it includes an additional scene that brings the Demon Lord herself, Madame Daeva, into the story and places her squarely in Boston on the night that Lucifer confronts his fate.
When the next steps begin to take shape, you'll be the first to know.
