Adventure Ahead in 2026!

Though a date hasn't been set, at least not in any permanent sense, there are already plana afoot that would make last year's Big Ass Road Trip seem almost small by comparison.

What's on the menu?

Well, as you can tell from the image above, Glacier National Park is one of the intended highlights. The "what else" is where things get fun. And a bit mad. We've already talked about spending a couple of nights in Las Vegas again, which would mean that a brief stop in Flagstaff, Arizona is likely to be included as well. That means the meteor crater near Winslow might be a fun sight to see along the way. There's also my wife's strong desire to revisit Grand Tetons National Park and spend a bit more time there than we did last year. There's talk of San Francisco, a drive up the California coast, and a stop at the Redwood National and State Parks. And since Glacier is one of the key points of interest and Yellowstone lies in between that and the Tetons, well ... it looks like a second trip to Yellowstone is in the works as well.

Which is fine by me. Yellowstone is huge and we barely scratched the surface of what there is to see the first time around.

Handling the logistics of a trip that size is where things get tricky. Where do we visit first? How long do we spend in each location? Will we break up some of the longer drives by stopping overnight in some town halfway in between? Will I screw up again like last year and convince everyone that our next drive is just four hours when it's *in rather startling reality* closer to eight?

Author's Note: that last conundrum was not entirely my fault. I had been looking at several different routes that morning, for all the varying legs of our journey, and managed to simply confuse one with the other. I told that to my passengers. They were unimpressed.

A Look Back

November 4th, 2020, is where my journey as an author began.

Since that time almost six years ago, the book underwent a few changes. The original cover (a unique design created by my sister-in-law, Magdalena Delmas) was eventually replaced with an entirely new design and several additional chapters. Those chapters were part of a novella that came out several months later, titled She Hunts in Shadow, that was intended to showcase what happened in the one-year time jump that occurred between the last two chapters of my debut novel. That novella is no longer available and the story it contained is now a part of what represents the opening chapter in an ever-expanding world.

The eBook is also available (at long last) on bookshop.org, a move that has long been in the making. So, for those of you who wish to divest themselves of Amazon's ever-increasing dominance in the literary world, there's now a way that you can buy my book and support indie bookshops at the same time.

It's kind of crazy to look back and see where my adventure began. And it leaves me to wonder -- what will happen next?

I suppose that's the kind of question that only time can tell.

Yep. It finally happened. After months - nay years - of holding off on finally pushing the button. I caved. This is the official home of my wild author life on the web. What will happen next? Who the hell knows. But it should be a hoot no matter what!

What's in a Name?

Well, it turns out the answer to that is - quite a lot.

Over the course of the next few months, I will begin plans to gradually roll out a rename and rerelease of "Elegy" the third novel in my urban fantasy saga, the Hymn of Light & Shadow. The reveal of the new title is slated to occur in my upcoming newsletter, which should happen around the first of May. So, if you're at all curious to get an early peek at the newly imagined title - you should probably sign up now.
